BCCAP created and developed the BCCAP Education and Training Center to enable individuals of impoverished backgrounds to attain self-sufficiency through educational training and programs geared towards development of marketable employment skills. The BCCAP Education and Training Center has a Chapter 46 Vocational School license from the New Jersey Department of Education. The Center offers vocational training and English language and citizenship information programs.

Several training programs have been implemented in response to "Work First New Jersey" initiatives and the Workforce investment Act. The IMPACT Program (Individuals Meeting Personal Achievements and Career Training) combines basic skills education, marketable career training and job placement in the food service (SPICE), property repair and maintenance (PRIME) and customer service (C-SERVE) fields. In addition, these programs are available to youth ages 16 to 21 who are seeking to enhance their basic skills and prepare for employment in these specific career fields.

Each career track consists of classroom training and supervised work experience in the training areas. Students fulfill the work experience portion of their programs at BCCAP facilities or other locations designated by BCCAP. Case managers/job developers work with the students throughout the program to help with successful career development, job placement and retention. Individual, modular workshops provide flexibility to accommodate the welfare population.

Bridges to Success is a special faith-based initiative, utilizing volunteer mentoring and professional expertise to sustain jobs or encourage career advancement for those families leaving welfare. This program also provides financial literacy training and grant/loan assistance for auto purchases to eligible Post-TANF clients, enabling a transition from Welfare to Work and movement toward self-sufficiency.

With a grant from the NJ Department of Labor and Work Force Development, the BCCAP Education and Training Center offers English as a Second Language classes for immigrant and limited English-speaking adults, including senior citizens in Bergen County. The grant allows BCCAP to successfully serve more than 250 individuals in beginner, intermediate and advanced levels of ESL yearly in four 10-week class cycles. Classes are available at two sites within the County where there is the heaviest influx of non-English speaking populations as well as available public transportation.

The New Americans program serves as a primary means of support to the foreign born, particularly to the Hispanic Community. Immigration and naturalization assistance, translation and interpretation services, advocacy and information and referral are provided to those individuals who are new to our county.

Project ACES (Access to Careers, Education and Supports) is a collaboration of organizations, led by BCCAP, providing education and training opportunities for out-of-school youth in Bergen County.
