Services offered at the Community Action HELP Center of Bergen County include:

Bergen County Head Start and Early Head Start

Head Start and Early Head Start are high quality, comprehensive child development programs serving pregnant moms, infants, toddlers, preschool children and their families. The programs are child-focused and have the overall goal of increasing the school readiness of young children in low-income families.
Individualized services include education and early childhood development, medical, dental, mental health, nutrition, and parent involvement.
 
Applications are accepted throughout the year. Vacancies are filled on a first come, first serve basis, as long as all requirements are met. If you have any questions, or would like a tour, please contact the Administrative office at 201-968-0200 ext. 7019 to set up an appointment.
 

Workforce Learning Link

     

The Workforce Learning Link is a unique educational and career preparation program created in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (LWD) and NJN Public Television. 
The Workforce Learning Link is designed to deliver workforce training programs and services directly to welfare registrants, dislocated workers and other job seekers identified by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (LWD), the New Jersey Department of Corrections and other agencies. Using digital television technology, streaming video, computer software, the internet and print materials, NJN provides interactive training services that allow participants to address individual employment-related issues at their own pace.

A Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)

 

Our sister agency, North Hudson Community Action Corporation, is providing the finest in bilingual comprehensive health care to the people of Garfield and the surrounding communities. Services include: Adult Medicine, Women's Health, Pediatrics, and Dentistry. For an appointment call 973-340-1182, Monday thru Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm. Walk-ins welcome.
